A presentation of the book Russia on the World Arms Market, published by group of authors - leading experts in Russian arms trade and military-technical questions - took place at the Interfax news agency on Tuesday, 17 April 2001. The book, characterized as a sort of "arms trade encyclopedia", consists of sixteen chapters dealing with different aspects of World Arms Trade, and Russian position on the Arms Market in XX century. Do not pretending to comprehensively described picture of world arms trade, authors nevertheless are asserting that the book is the real "Encyclopedia of World arms trade and Russian military-technical cooperation". It was the first Russian-based attempt to provide a thorough, detail and sensible analysis of global and regional arms markets and Russia's role on those markets in form of whole data-book, which is a sort of precedent for Russian and FSU region. The data-book is primarily of interest to specialists working in the sphere of arms exports, and also for those who are working and interesting in different military-related questions - military and civil analysts and experts, official representatives from defense industries and from foreign trade organizations, journalists, etc. Themes of some chapters are interest also for military historians (see Table of contents (in Russian).
